![]() ![]() Also had a Pfaff serger, one of the first ones out there for home use. It has a curved base in the front which makes it so easy to feed the material up to the needle. I went back to Pfaff and got a Performance 5.0. He got the best deal! Now I’m older and have a bad back. The shop owner wanted it so bad, he basically traded it straight across for my new machine. I kept it anyway and when I went to buy a new machine, I took it along. It was a very sad day to learn that there were no parts to be had to repair it. I got a Pfaff 1471 and literally used it to death sewing my and my husband’s clothing as well as making my designs for sale. When I got married I bought a Singer Stylist and used that for quite a few years. It sat on a beautiful old oak library table, and I couldn’t reach the foot pedal and see the machine to sew at the same time, so my sisters would take turns sitting under the table and push the pedal with their hands when I asked them to. My sisters and I learned on my mom’s treadle turned electric. I too started on my Grandmother’s treadle machine. ![]()
